SYNOPSIS: Black and white, gloomy woods and bombings. It’s the end of World War II. A doctor is trying in vain to save a man’s life, to end up getting hurt himself and be forced to hide in a pit. But he is not alone. Another soldier is already lying there, disarmed and wounded: a German soldier, an enemy. As the initial mistrust changes to complicity, the two talk and exchange objects. If on the one hand the doctor cannot make sense of the War, on the other the German soldier believes that all of them is there for a reason. He asks the doctor to put an end to his sufferings. Will he be able to convince someone who devoted himself to saving lives to take one against his duties? This piercing episodes effectively depicts the paradox of war.
