SYNOPSIS: “You’re 1 in 3, tell.” This is the beginning of this touching short film. It’s a special day for Kassie: she’ll turn 16 today. She only asks for a lock on her door from her parents, without being heard. Thinking she is going through a rebellious phase, her mom and dad ignore Kassie’s desperate scream. They don’t realize the danger that lurks between the walls of their house.
PROFILE: Vasha Narace was born on October 16th, 1985 in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. She is a writer and director dedicated to addressing delicate and controversial issues, with a focus on violence against women. The message behind her work is to ask before you assume, since you never know what’s really going on behind closed doors. She is currently enrolled at NYFA (New York Film Academy) in MA filmmaking and media production. One in is her first short film, and also her thesis film.
