IL MONDO DI YASMINE KASSARI

La giovane regista Yasmine Kassari nasce nel 1970 a Jerrada (Marocco) e decide di studiare cinema presso l’INSAS (Istituto Nazionale Superiore delle Arti e dello Spettacolo di Bruxelles), conseguendo il diploma nel 1997. Durante gli anni all’INSAS, lavora per la società di produzione “Le films de la drève”. I suoi primi lavori sono cortometraggi: “Le feutre noir” (1994), “Chiens errants”(1995) e “Linda et Nadia” (2000). Sempre nel 2000, realizza il documentario “Quands les hommes pleurent”  sul tema dell’immigrazione  clandestina dei lavoratori marocchini verso la Spagna del sud. Il suo primo lungometraggio “L’enfant endormi” (2004) riceve numerosi premi internazionali, tra cui il premio come “Miglior film europeo” assegnato alla Mostra del Cinema di Venezia dalla Confederazione Internazionale del Cinema d’Arte e Sperimentazione, ed anche per il suo talento da esordiente (primo premio per “Miglior sceneggiatura e promessa dei nuovi talenti” assegnato dal Centre National Cinématographique di Parigi).

Young movie director Yasmine Kassari was born in 1970 in Jerrada (Morocco) and chose to study cinema at the National College of Arts and Performing of Bruxelles (INSAS), where she graduated in  1997. While at the INSAS she worked for the production company “Le films de la drève”. Her first works are shorts entitled “Le feutre noir” (1994), “Chiens errants”(1995) and “Linda et Nadia” (2000). In the same year she realizes the documentary “Quands les hommes pleurent” (2000), which talks about the illegal immigration of Moroccan workers to the south of Spain. Her first feature film “L’enfant endormi” (2004) received several international awards, i.e., r “Best European Film” at the Venice Film Festival received by from the International Confederation for the Artistic and Experimental Cinema, and for her talent as emerging artist (first prize for “Best screenplay and emerging artist ” awarded to her from the Centre National Cinématographique of Paris).
