Since its beginning, videomusic has been closely in relation with other artistic forms, often in a significant game of mutual influence and mutation leading to a meaningful change of those we traditionally consider as being common instruments and methods of survey.
This special screening of Cà Foscari Short Film Festival is dedicated to some representative examples of video/cinematographic convergence which stand at the border between videomusic and short film, which sometimes take a life of their own thanks to the originality of interpretation and authorship.
The second part of the workshop realised in collaboration with the Candiani Cultural Center of Mestre, important reference point for video clip activities, especially those involving preservation and diffusion of materials, in particular thanks to the initiatives of the Ark of music video, will offer a selection of works presented in the last editions of the Mestre Film Fest. These independent productions are linked by the common thread of ‘animation’, an essential and indispensable aspect of shorts.
