Three short movies selected by the Jury members
Shimizu Takashi presents Project Scissors: Night Cry (2015), a short movie introducing the horror videogame Night Cry created by Hifumi Kono, in collaboration with Shimizu himself. The water – as in Japanese tradition – is the main element of this horror story.
Giannalberto Bendazzi chooses an animation short film: Schody (Stairs, 1969) by Stefan Schabenbeck. In this work the Polish director in seven minutes condensed the existential sorrows of human beings. A stylized man wonders endless up and down on infinite stairs.
Girish Kasaravalli presents Avsesh (The Remnants, 1975), his first short film, winner of Best Short Film at the National Film Award. A boy named Hari, isolated and bullied, has a strong relationship with his grandmother, while he has been raised in a very conservative Brahamin family.
