In history of animated films, the movies directed by a pair of directors are relatively rare, even if animation is an artistic context where the final product often is the result of a collective collaboration rather than an individual work of a single author, perhaps even more than in live action cinema. However, even without taking into account several major Disney and Pixar productions which bear the signature of two, or even three different artists (i. e. The Little Mermaid, directed in 1989 by Ron Clements and John Musker), some artistic partnerships have led to the creation of works whose originality is nowadays universally acknowledged. The workshop will focus on movies made by a pair of directors, where the creativity of each author stimulates and enriches the other one’s.
