SYNOPSIS: Arash is the character who symbolises freedom in Persian mythology. The film speaks of the return of Arash in the heart of today Tehran all the while tracing the labyrinth inversely following a path he had once lead.
PROFILE: Maral Pourmandan was born in Compiegne in 1989. At the age of 3, she left France for Iran where later she studied painting at University of Art in Tehran, and film making at Iranian Youth Cinema Society. In 2012 she moved to Belgium to study performing arts at the University of Liège, then continued her studies at Le Fresnoy on the subject of film and contemporary art. Her experimental and fiction short films, are often based on Persian literature and poetry and deal with social and political themes on the contemporary situation of Iran and its people.
