“I must stop. But diets always begin on Mondays, right?”
This is the thought of the main character of the web series Arthur, produced by RSI (Swiss Radiotelevion in Italian) and by Innmagine SA, aired on the RSI website from 1-25 October2015, and winner of the Web First contest organized by the national Swiss television (SRG SSR).
Directed by Nick Rusconi, coauthor of the series with Chloe de Souza, and produced by Alberto Meroni from Inmagine SA, this web series is brimming with references from pulp to hard boiled, horror, and even splatter. Impossible not to notice Clive Cussler’s book, an American adventure novelist, displayed on Arthur’s bed. Or even references from Joe R. Lansdale, George Elior, and the Romanian philosopher Emil Cioran.
The web series is not only a container of references and funny quotes, but is also a serial web game: a riddle to unravel thanks to clues hidden in each episode, which lead to a secret word. When you put together all the secret words from the episodes, the identity of a mysterious character is revealed, who may be Arthur’s friend or rival, and his encrypted message will be decoded.
