Closing Show
CU(L)T!, is going to be the closing performance of this year’s edition of the Ca’ Foscari Short Film Festival. This is a live story-telling show with musical accompaniment and digital live painting by artists Cosimo Miorelli and Giorgio Pacorig, together on stage for the second time after their first collaboration Soffia! (2015).
Stage name CZM, Miorelli (Biella, 1986) is an illustrator and digital live-painter. His artistic research combines different narrative devices, ranging from illustrations to comics, from paintings to live-storytelling performances in collaboration with actors and musicians. He contributed to the creation of multimedia performances, poetry readings and theatre plays with his live-painting art at cultural events, festivals and exhibitions in Italy, Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, Germany, Denmark, Hungary and Portugal, in collaboration with authors, musicians and artists such as Stefano Benni, Paolo Rumiz, RAF, Vincenzo Vasi, Luigi Cinque, Badara Sek, Loris Vescovo, Saba Anglana, Fernando Mota, Giovanni Maier, Stefano Bechini, Fabrizio Nocci, Ivan Bert, Gup Alcaro, Giorgio Mirto, Leo Virgili, Roberta Lena, Gigio Alberti, Roberto Zibetti and Susanna Boehm. CZM is involved in the production of animated videos for museums and of documentary films, as well. He published comics and illustrated books in Italy and is part of Stigma Collective Project. At present he splits his time working between Berlin and Italy.
Giorgio Pacorig graduated as a pianist from “G. Tartini” Conservatoire in Trieste under the guidance of Maestro Massimo Gon. In 1991 he participated in “Siena Jazz” seminars and took part in a workshop organized by Muhal Richard Abrams and Roscoe Mitchell in Trento in 1993. He has been actively involved in an intense artistic activity since 1989, both as a pianist-keyboardist and as a composer, setting up several music groups ranging from jazz to electronic music, from movie soundtracks to improvisation, collaborating with many musicians from different backgrounds and of different nationalities. Such varied experiences have allowed him to perform in diverse settings, from clubs to community centers, from theatre festivals to jazz events both in Italy and abroad. He is credited with almost fifty records where he features as leader and session man; he has also performed and recorded music with Tristan Honsinger, Giovanni Maier, Daniele D’Agaro, Massimo De Mattia, Hank Roberts, Roberto Ottaviano, Marco Colonna, Greg Cohen, Gianluigi Trovesi, Giancarlo Schiaffini, Michele Rabbia, Antonello Salis, Jessica Lurie, Cuong Vu.
