SYNOPSIS: In this 25 minutes black-and-white film, we follow an old woman who digs for water in a dry and barren region. Whilst she digs, the furrows in the dry soil are mirrored in the wrinkles of her spirited face. Suddenly a girl appears at the edge of a ditch, the old woman sees her and they exchange looks. Who is she? And will the woman find the water in this abandoned place?
PROFILE: Born in Mumbai, India in 1980, he first studied economics in Chennai before then taking a postgraduate diploma in film directing at the Film and Television Institute of India in Maharashtra. Kamakshi is his graduation film.
