SYNOPSIS: Sniffing through a junkyard, a rat finds a lubricating spray which manages to bring to life an old and rusty music machine
PROFILE: Shalev Ben Elya (left) is a 4th year student of animation at Bezalel Academy in Jerusalem. He is specialized in stop motion and classical animation for which he uses a wide range of materials and techniques. In 2017 his short And Thou Renewest the Face of the Earth, which imitates the movement of a zoetrope, was awarded the first prize at the “929: Tanakh B’yachad” Competition. In the meantime Shalev has worked at the École de La Cambre in Brussels on Eclipse, an animation created from a clay relief. Renen Adar (right), age 28, student of Animation and Visual Arts at Bezalel Academy, Israel. His main pleasure is to direct stories and animate characters through the use of the stop motion and classic animation techniques, although he is deeply interested in comics, illustrations and writings.
