New International Competition
Ca’ Foscari Short Film Festival in collaboration with Luca Finotti launch a new section of the festival competition called “The creators of the future”.
This section of the festival is intended to discover and award the worldwide creatives that will present their Artworks, Spots and Films able to translate the creativity into a worldwide communication brand.
Nowadays creativity, art works and Artists obtain funding from brands, which are always looking for new voices, ideas and artists. This is why the section called “The creators of the future” has the objective of identifying the best spot that is able to convey the message that a given brand wishes to communicate.
Those who wish to be included in this section will have to create and present artworks able to convey narrations, images, positive attitudes and imagination to present the most effective brand promotion that can be seen and shared worldwide on any online and offline platform.
As the American Super Bowl announcements are considered the most effective example of TV ads, Ca’ Foscari Short Film Festival and Luca Finotti launched the specific challenge of placing the “idea” as the starting point and inspiration of any presented work, with the aim of increase the value of creation and communication tools.
Any form of storytelling is accepted, may it be humor, story or gender. Just show us the language of the future, an innovative idea is in itself a good fgilm to watch.
The call for submission for the international competition is open to film school students or university students from all over the world. They will be asked to submit their concepts related to a assigned brand. Further details will be announced starting from May 2019.

Defined by Forbes Magazine as the “Film Director Behind Fashion’s Viral Videos”, Luca Finotti is an Italian creative and film director who has directed fashion films for Nike, Versace, Giorgio Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Tommy Hilfiger, Golden Goose Deluxe Brand, Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci, Moschino, Hugo Boss, Jeremy Scott, Adidas, River Island, Tod’s, Cover Girl, Rimmer London Look, MSGM and Pitti, just to name a few. He also collaborated with international magazines such as Vogue Italy, Vogue China, Vogue Russia, Dazed & Confused, i-D Magazine and Hercules Magazine.
Thanks to his a degree in Marketing and Economy obtained at the renowned Luigi Bocconi University in Milan and to his cinema studies at the New York Film Academy, Luca possesses all the necessary skills to be a successful artistic and viral film director that combines powerful moving images and develops Social Media. His creations always start from an idea that is then developed according to the trend that better reflects and guarantees the worldwide virality of every film & campaign and makes every project a visible and shareable online experience in the millennial era.
His portfolio is full of national and international stars including Lady Gaga, Jeremy Scott, Janelle Monae, Gigi Hadid, Monica Bellucci, Rita Ora, Sofia Vergara, Paris Jackson, Emmanuelle Seigner, Toni Garrn, Daniel Brühl, André Turpin, Sita Abellan, CL, Stephen Dorff, Karlie Kloss, Marco Mengoni, Amanda Lepore, Bianca Balti, Simone Nobili and Simon Nessman. He won the Best Director award for his recent film Versace Manifesto at CineMoi Film Festival 2018, and his project #WeBelieveInThePowerOfLove for Nike was screened and awarded in more than 25 Film Festival including the Ciclope, Aesthetica, CineMoi, Venice, Copenhagen, Canadian and Berlin Fashion Film Festivals.
