A story of a physically changed girl Rita – a polio victim who in spite of her disability takes life as a challenge and brings her family to a better status. From the slum hut to a concrete house, from illiteracy to being literate is her journey towards a new dawn. The story unfolds to show Rita as the strongest member of the family on whom the mother can rely an find support. In a way it reveals a mother-daughter relationship.
