SYNOPSIS: Lukasz (24) wants to improve his social condition. He longs for social recognition and desires what he lacks more in his life: loyalty. He believes he has found all this by working as a thug for a gangster in Hamburg, called Milan. While Lukasz’s ‘social improvement is gradually coming through, one day his brother Kamil (13) shows up after years of separation because their parents have died.
PROFILE: Jarek Duda approached the music and cinema world when he was he was a teenager. At the age of sixteen, he attempted his first videos with a camera he had found in a flea market. He put his camera aside for some years to devote his creativity to music, playing the drums in various bands and founding a music label, as well. However, his passion for cinema proved to be stronger and Jarek started to shoot again. He decided to move to Cologne to study directing at the Internationale Filmschule (Köln), where he discovered his talent for directing. After achieveing a technical and professional maturity, he returned to Hamburg and resumed his work as director. Jarek’s keywords in cinema are “emotional, authentic and aestetic”
