SYNOPSIS: The film ‘First’, based on two true stories, tells the story of Marysia, a 40-year-old woman, discovers that the child she is expecting has an incurable genetic defect and is likely to die soon after birth. Nevertheless, she makes the difficult decision to give birth to the child to donate her kidney to her sister’s sick daughter.
PROFILE: Adam Hartwinski, born in Warsaw, grows in Stockholm, where he completed film and documentary courses at Sundbyberg Folkhögskola. He decided to return to Poland to continue his studies and he graduated from the Warsaw Film School. He then began working on film sets in Poland – both for the production of TV series and feature films. For as long as he can remember he has been floating between two cultures – Polish and Swedish.
