SYNOPSIS: On a fishing morning, fisherman Chan Mia finds the body of a girl the same age as her daughter. The girl, a victim of rape, was wearing a red dress and Chan Mia, knowing her daughter’s passion for this color, decides to take the dress and give it to her daughter. From that moment, however, he will not stop feeling guilty.
PROFILE: Md. Ashiqur Rahman Anik was born in1996 in Pirganj upazila of Rangpur district. He is currently studying digital studies and TV production at ULAB, Department of Media Studies and Journalism. He is also a script writer and film maker. ‘Laal Jama’ is his first short film. It has so far been screened in several cities in the country and abroad including India, South Korea, Canada, England, Turkey, Netherlands, and also won the awards. Besides, ‘Raster Jobanbondi’ is his first stage play which was staged at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. “Fight for Existence” is also his first documentary which is based on the Santal community. In addition to his studies, he is currently working as a script writer and director at ‘Gaalgoppo Films’ production house.
