SYNOPSIS: Zhi Lian is an old and homeless cardboard collector living on the streets amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Her daily routine consists of collecting cardboard, selling it, and scavenging for the ritual items needed for a ghost marriage with her late fiancé. However, Zhi Lian is running out of time as her late fiancé is due to be reincarnated. She soon realises that they will never be reunited.
PROFILE: Nicholas Ong is a graduate from ITE College East’s, Digital & Video Production in 2018 and Temasek Polytechnic’s Digital Film & Television in 2021. He has worked in multiple TVCs, school based short films and dramas during the time of his studies. Based in Singapore, Nicholas is the Director and writer for the film, “Scavenger”. Since he was gifted the opportunity to Direct one of his final year projects, he immediately grew fond of the role. As Nicholas continues his film journey, he hopes one day, his film would impact and change people’s lives.
