SYNOPSIS: Dev, a 20 year old boy, in love with theatre, lives with his widowed father. Dev explores and dis-covers his trans-identity through the mythological character of Shikhandi from the Mahabharata.
PROFILE: Born in Jamnagar, India in 1992, Sahil D. Gada moved to Kenya after only 3 months. He grew up in Nairobi where he became involved in the world of theatre and studied journalism at the United States International University in Nairobi. During his time at university, he continued to do theatre and produce short fiction and non-fiction films. Parallel to his university education, he founded his own theatre company called Hoodwink 9 Theatre, with which he wrote, directed and choreographed two of East Africa’s biggest musicals. He also worked at Radio Africa Group as a creative producer and copy writer for 3 years from 2014, soon after his career in Radio, he returned to India, to study directing in Mumbai at Whistling Woods International, completed in 2019.
