SYNOPSIS: Two soldiers in Austria at the end of World War Two meet not far away from the battlefield. Both have deserted. Although they speak different languages, they share a brief moment of understanding. But too soon they are torn from their hiding space back into the harsh reality.
PROFILE: Helene Sorger was born in 2000 in Vienna. Growing up, first in London and then near Vienna, she soon discovered a passion for languages and foreign cultures. She developed an interest in storytelling and finally found her way to film and theatre. Six years have now passed since her first job at the Federal Chancellery of Austria and her most recent at the Salzburg Festival. During this time, she studied first Media Technology and then Digital Media Production at the University of Applied Sciences St. Pölten, directed her graduation film “Wiedersehen”, which scored at festivals from Moscow to Los Angeles, found her passion in lists and structure on numerous film sets and has been trying to make directors’ creative dreams come true ever since then.
