SYNOPSIS: A little bird crashes into the window of a hospital room. A young woman picks him up and the past memories of her childhood suddenly come back, while her father, lying on the bed, is trying to reach her, to communicate with her. A tale that shows the complicated and unspoken relationship between father and daughter, where the emotions and incomprehensions are displayed through a series of metaphors.
PROFILE: Daria Kashcheeva studies animated film at the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts (FAMU), in Prague. Her works have been presented in international festivals and have won various prices, such as the Nespresso Talents 2017 film competition in Cannes. She uses different animated techniques: from puppet animation to collage and 2D animation. Daughter, her bachelor’s puppet animation project, received a Cristal at Annecy Animation Film Festival 2019 and was nominated for the 92th Oscar Edition, animated category.
