SYNOPSIS: After she has been bit by a dog affected by rabies, Clare is forced to stay inside a tiny house in which she lives with her mother and her husband. While the town is attacked by a group of pye-dogs, the reclusion brings out an increasing wish of freedom in her. In order to escape, she will have to get over the determination of her family in protecting her. “Rabies” is on the one hand a disease, and on the other the emotion of those who feel withdrawn from others and with the wish of escape from everything like Clara, who wants to escape from everyday life. The dream of the nature and the dream of the dogs (the “enemies” to defeat, according to the other citizens) become her one and only hope to escape. The obsession emerges from the suffocation of the social constrictions of her “protective” husband and the figure of the faithful woman, concepts that will lead to an unexpected final turn.
