SYNOPSIS: In the room of an apartment, a woman gets up from the bed while her lover is still sleeping naked. She moves to the next room, where she starts modelling a small clay sculpture, in the same position of the man asleep in bed. In a nocturnal frame characterized by art and elegance, “Next” tells the story of a contemporary artist and her art without speaking any word. The main character seems detached from reality: her only aim is capturing the image of her lovers in her sculptures. Men are just mere casualties of her art, the only form of communication she can conceive. And the framing techniques, which enliven the composition with fluid motion, convey the pure dramatic nature of the scene.
