SYNOPSIS: It is told that a shepherd who stole the devil’s dearest goat transformed it into the first bagpipe that gave forth music without anyone ever touching it. Devil’s Chanter presents the process of this transformation into another kind of being: music.
PROFILE: Karim Hema is a Budapest based director. He was born in 1999 and was intrigued by filmmaking since his childhood. He’s done animated shorts on an amateur level, studied drama in his high school years. His first semi-professional works included promotional videos for restaurants, bars and tourist companies. He participated at the camera assistant courses of the Hungarian Society of Cameraman. Currently he is studying at the SZFE University of Theatre and Film Arts in Budapest to be a film director. His masters are the internationally accclaimed Ferenc András (Dögkeselyű) and Péter Soós (Gateway to the West). He has directed six short films and is working on his next professional music video and short feature.
