Quindici19 is a short film competition entirely organized by young people for young film directors between 15 and 19 years of age. The competition was conceived by blending passion and ambition, but mainly to offer the young and talented interpreters a place where they can show their creations, a place that may become a starting point to improve and pursue their passion for filmmaking. Quindici19 represents an opportunity, a personal challenge, a way to express oneself through original creations. Techniques and inexperience are not a major concern, the difference is made by creativity.
Pause tells the story of how a simple yet powerful device, capable of controlling time’s relentness passage, will forever change the life of the child who finds it. A reflection conveyed in a simple and original way, immersed in a breathtaking photography. A story at the limit between reality and fiction, between the possible and the impossible, precarious between the control of time and the chance of being trapped in it. Marsden Sebastian is 15 years old and lives in Australia. His work was awarded the ‘Best Short’ prize and won the ‘Cinecittà si mostra’ award at the third edition of the Quindici19 competition.
