SYNOPSIS: A young boy, seeing an old lady falling on the ground at the bus station, decides to carry her to the hospital to receive the necessary treatments. Nevertheless, the boy is accused of being himself the author of the fall by the woman’s family, which attributes him the medical expenses of the case. So the accident involves two families, but none of them can afford the economical weight of it.
PROFILE: Born and raised in Changzhoun, the director Qin Yang is completing his artistic formation at Melbourne University in the prestigious Victorian College of Arts through the Master of Film and Television course. “Under the sun”, completely made in China in 2014, represents the masterpiece of the artist: this short has indeed been selected to be part of the 63rd Melbourne Film Festival’s Accelerator program, and has been selected for its world premiere at the 68th Cannes Film Festival’s Cinéfondation.
