SYNOPSIS: Mateo, a diligent and faithful catholic seminarist, gets into a crisis after meeting another fellow student, Salvador. Indeed, this meeting awakens the homosexual desire Mateo has hidden to himself due to his stern catholic morality. The strong contrast between his natural impulses and the principles of the religion he belongs to leads him towards a painful, inner conflict, at least until Salvador’s departure.
PROFILE: Marc Camardons is a filmmaker and a last year student at ESCAC. He was born and raised in Andorra until he was 18 and then moved to Barcelona to study cinema. Pile of Salt is a short film he made halfway through his second year at University. He is currently in the post-production process of another short film that will be presented at film festivals in mid-October.
