SYNOPSIS: In a land where magic is part of nature, the strength of a volcano is linked to the souls of those who live at its feet, a father and his daughter must face the evil represented by a sorcerer with whom Gregorio has unfortunately made a pact: Gregorio’s soul will be owned by the sorcerer when the next full moon rises. Nextli must do something, save his father now sick because of the black magic of the sorcerer who is slowly consuming him. The girl then with courage and the help of fire will have to reach the volcano and look for a way to save her father’s soul and their land.
PROFILE: Montserrat Cattaneo is a film director, producer and still photographer. She studied at Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica in Mexico City and in New Zealand Film Academy. In her artistic experiences she has been assistant director and she also co-founded a theatre company Conejo con prisa. One of the various short films she produced, La Caja China, a scenographic project by Gloria Carrasco and directed by Jimena Muhlia, won a bronze medal at World Stage Design in Taipei. In 2013 she was director of the International University Film Festival Kinoki. She directed the short film The Heart of the Volcano.
