SYNOPSIS: Between cold concrete walls, bullet-riddled from the ongoing war, a mother tries to protect her son from the loss of his father and to keep him away from the attacks raging outside. Left completely on her own, she tries to embody both the father and mother figure but soon reaches her limits.
PROFILE: Mohamad W. Ali is a filmmaker from Syria, where he grew up and received his degree in mass communication from Damascus University. At the age of 24, Ali relocated to India to enroll in Satyajit Ray’s film school after working on numerous documentaries during the war. Ali currently lives in India and directs films about his native homeland, Syria, such as The Memory Loop, Father’s Footsteps, and Syrian Memories in India. From pre-production to post-production, and finishing with advanced technical knowledge and life experience gained during the war, he is the only person who has the necessary experience to fit into any role in a film. He has an extremely authentic style of telling stories. His primary professional objective is to become a feature film director in order to portray Syria in a more authentic and honest manner.
