The Francesco Pasinetti Festival, now in its 18th edition, has now become a meeting point for young people and professionals in the film industry and also aims to promote film productions, including independent and experimental ones, in Venice.
The themes of the Pasinetti Festival, curated by Daniela Manzolli, and directed by Michela Nardin, intend to pay particular attention to short films dealing with social, cultural and environmental themes and the documentary genre, especially linked to the city of Venice.
This year, at the Ca’ Foscari Short Film Festival, some trailers and short videos of many of the winners of the various professional and young sections of the 17th edition will be presented, taking the opportunity to present the new Regulations.
In the F. Pasinetti Festival, schools play an important role, with proposals for children: the creation of animated gifs and the prize for booktrailer named after Bruno Rosada, which even sees the participation of middle and high school children. It is therefore impossible not to mention the Liceo Artistico Michelangelo Guggenheim for its history closely intertwined with the award that took its first steps in this place and the recent twinning with Liceo Artistico Giovanni Valle di Padova, which collaborated in the organization with a group of students and teachers from the Graphic and Multimedia High School.
The Competition continues to deal with the city, telling its life and tradition, while remaining attentive to the present and prospects for the future. The days of the festival took place and will take place again for this edition in different places in the city, (the Casa del Cinema, the courtyard of the Hotel Acquarius, in Campo San Giacomo dell’Orio, at the Venice Film Festival in the Veneto Region) to be able to ensure that this remains a participatory city, alive and true. Venice is therefore the theme of a section of the award and of a special award of the Association “The whole city together!”, But it summarizes a basic theme of all the sections: the right to live in welcoming realities, in which dialogue is precious instrument of knowledge, in which diversity is richness, in which cordial coexistence is the basis of relationships between people.
