SYNOPSIS: Between the 1910s and 1920s, in an allusive correspondence, Rosa confides in her friend Giorgina, telling her a secret: the machine-man envisioned by Marinetti is not a near future for humankind, as futurists say. It is a present for womankind, which Giorgina can receive via mail.
PROFILE: Angela Norelli (Rome 1996) is a director, screenwriter and editor who graduated from the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome and holds a master’s degree in Philosophy from La Sapienza University with top honors. She was the winner of the Franco Solinas 2023 award for best feature film subject, and the Claudia Sbarigia screenwriting scholarship for best talent in narrating female characters and the female universe. Her short film We should all be futurists (2023) was awarded at the International Critics’ Week of the 80th Venice Film Festival for best technical contribution, also earning the Fedic special mention as best short film. Her previous short film Ai bambini piace nascondersi (Children like to hide) (2021), was screened at the 39th Turin film festival and subsequently selected and awarded at several national and international festivals. She is also the editor of Lorenzo Tardella’s Le variabili dipendenti (2022), winner of the David di Donatello for best short film in 2023.
