SYNOPSIS: Giacomo, a young second-generation Italian-Chinese student, travels to the Chinese county of Wencheng to bring back the ashes of his prematurely departed father. In his parent’s hometown, he stays with his grandfather, who becomes a guide towards forgotten paths of his culture of origin, far removed from his life in Europe.
PROFILE: Xin Alessandro Zheng (1997) is a director, screenwriter and editor. He studied at the New Academy of Fine Arts in Milan (NABA) and has collaborated in the production of short films and documentaries shot both in Italy and China. “Where the Leaves Fall” is the short film he made for the thesis at the conclusion of the Triennium of Media Design and Multimedia Arts at NABA in Milan.
